We had a user ask about why he had trades coming up on the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) explorer prior to the hard fork date (I.E. before Bitcoin Cash technically existed).

The answer is Bitcoin Cash was a hard fork from the Bitcoin blockchain. What this effectively means is prior to the hard fork date (1 August, 2017 – block #478559) is that any transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain were carbon-copied to the Bitcoin Cash network.

Therefore if you have a Bitcoin address with transactions prior to block 478559 those transactions will appear in the Bitcoin Cash explorer (as well as any subsequent Bitcoin Cash Hard Forks like Bitcoin SV). However, those transactions are for Bitcoin and not Bitcoin Cash.
